The Blue Grass Project has a need for short term assignment. This assignment is approximately 9 months .
This project office is located in the city of Richmond, KY with the Plant site located approximately 5 miles away on the Blue Grass Army Depot.
Work Location: BGCAPP -Madison County, KY or Richmond, KY in town office. During operations, this project will be subject to the Army Regulations (AR50-6 Chemical Surety) which governs persons performing work under the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) and Unescorted Access Program (UAP). Depending on the work performed and the access granted a government security investigation and other physical requirements such as respirators may be mandated. Eligibility to be placed in a PRP or UAP position requires US citizenship.
Primary responsibility will be to support construction completion, and systemization (start-up) at the chemical demilitarization facility (EDT). Performs electrical engineering activities for plant modifications, which include as a minimum the development/revision of basic discipline drawings, such as schematics, block diagrams, one line diagrams, wiring diagrams, SETROUTE, BlockDraw, equipment/cable sizing, and specifications for equipment where deviations from standard documentation is required. Works under the direction of more senior engineers/designers and may have junior level engineers/drafter subordinates. Responsible to produce the electrical portion of systemization turnover packages. Conducts checking as required. Properly interprets and applies codes & standards and customer design requirements, for the preparation of electrical design documents, specifications, and system descriptions related to design tasks.
Must be a self-starter and capable of independent creative design, with direction, using Bechtel and industry proven concepts, and procedures. Must work well with others, other disciplines, and groups. Successful candidate will be assigned various plant systems, which will include electrical systems as well as mechanical and instrumentation and control systems.
BS degree in Electrical Engineering with 1 year of related electrical design experience.
Must be a US citizen.
Must be able to obtain a site security badge.
Must be physically fit and able to work safely at a construction site.
Must have 1 year of experience in Electrical Engineering developing documentation for Conceptual, Preliminary and Final Design.
Familiar with or course work using industry wide electrical system calculation/design tools, such as ETAP, CAD 2D and cable designing and routing software.
Knowledge of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE Standards.
Knowledge on electrical systems, schematics and electrical equipment layouts.
Must understand the SETROUTE program, and be able to input and complete corrections in the data base.
MS degree in Electrical Engineering.
Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience.
B Cert - Engineer.
