Corporate Affairs college hire generalist supports implementation of strategic plans in communications (internal and external), media relations, social and digital communications, issues management, and public affairs.
General Job Duties
Write compelling content for internal and external platforms (web, intranet, blog, social media, etc), and media outreach activities, in collaboration with internal and external experts
Create multimedia content
Curate content for a variety of Bechtel publications and websites
Perform research and analysis to support issues management, reputation management, and media relations
Support execution of internal and external communications plans
Serve as webmaster for internal and external websites
Perform other duties as necessary
A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or a related field from an accredited college or university
Eligibility to work and remain in the U.S. without sponsorship
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
Good writer, proficient in AP style
Understanding of social media and digital communications
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Online suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Yammer, and Power Point)
Demonstrated teamwork, strategic thinking, problem solving, strong interpersonal skills, initiative with professional discipline, motivation, and the desire to continually learn
Accurate, detail-oriented, and quick learner with ability to take direction from multiple sources
Able to work within a multicultural global team
A writing exercise may be required. Applications should include at least three current writing samples.
Experience in graphic design software, such as Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop
Familiarity with web design
Knowledge of SharePoint Online a plus
Familiarity with PowerBI or other metrics/analytics tools
Knowledge of Kentico CMS a plus
Experience in data analysis a plus
