Oversee and direct the design and documentation of all projects for the Royal Commission (RC) that are part of the growth and expansion of Jubail Industrial City and the Ras-Al-Khair Industrial City (RIC) in the Eastern Province. Projects include: residential buildings, commercial centers, schools, sports centers, government buildings, etc. Regular duties include:

  • Recommend architectural styles for residential areas, educational establishments, clinics and commercial districts.

  • Administration and supervision of architectural design, undertaken by in-house groups.

  • Maintain contact with outside technical consultants and other RC engineering disciplines for all projects.

  • Provide support to construction department and disposition field changes by issuing DCN’s and SCN’s.

  • Liaise with other RC departments, such as Urban Planning and Landscaping.

  • Respond to TQ’s and material submittals.

  • Review, update and prepare revisions to Guideline Specifications and Engineering Manuals related to site and architectural development.

QUALIFICATION: Bachelor Degree


Essential Technical:

  • University/College graduate with B.S. or M.S. in Architecture with construction observation/administration experience.

  • Technical knowledge of architectural concepts, techniques, materials and construction methods.

  • Broad knowledge of precedents in a specialty area and of principles and practices of related engineering methods and systems.

  • Knowledge of current industry or regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to architectural work.

Essential Behavioral:

  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be able to mentor junior engineers technically.

  • Ability to work in an integrated customer/Bechtel delivery team.

Preferred Technical:

  • Minimum 10 years construction observation/administration experience.

  • Familiarity with construction practices and economics.

  • Knowledge of current industry or regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to architectural work.

  • Skill in assessing the scope of problems and developing practical solutions.

  • Good knowledge of 2-D and 3-D computer aided design tools.

  • Working knowledge of planning and control methods.

Preferred Behavioral:

  • Self- motivated individual with good leadership skills.

  • Ability to work within an integrated RC/Bechtel team at multiple levels from working level to project manager level.
