Introduction

The D igital E nterprise P rogram (DEP) has been envisioned as a Corporate Initiative to facilitate a transformation of the company from a departmental, document-centric, and function/discipline optimized EPC execution model to an integrated, data-centric, and TIC optimized EPC execution model. Key aspects of DEP are: Digital (Data Centric), Enterprise (Integrated & Standardized) and Program (Transformative). Data-Centric Execution (DCE) is the methodology of creating, processing, managing, controlling and delivering information in the medium of data rather than via documents. The focus of DEP is the transformation of EPC Work Process, Tools, team member roles and responsibilities to support the transfer of trust and authority of information from documents to data resulting in a step change in project performance (craft time on tools).

DEP has established a three-year roadmap to facilitate this transformation. The roadmap is broken into two phases. Phase 1 will be completed in 2018 and will cover work process requirements and phase 2 will implement the future state requirements for organization, process and tools. To successfully implement the future state work processes, organization and systems, DEP will require our best talent, future leaders and key SMEs.

DEP Master Data Management & Data Governance System Admin Lead

The DEP Master Data Management & Data Governance System Admin Lead role reports to the DEP Master Data Management & Data Governance Lead and works closely with DEP Enterprise Architect, DEP Solution Architect, IWPP Leads, System Leads, and other entities to ensure cross-functional alignment in driving the data specifications, systems and architecture requirements and many of the key design paradigms, principles and methodologies into DEP. The position offers ample opportunity to "make a difference" and to be an active part of the decision-making process that leads to improvements and positive change across the implementation.

2018 Phase 1 Essential Duties:

This role will lead and manage our master data management and data governance platforms and associated integration, operation and health of the underlying systems. The key objectives for this role are to:

  • Support and manage, on behalf of the Master Data Management & Data Governance System Admin Lead, our future state Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Governance (DG) platforms and operations to support the IWPPs.

  • Participate, with other MDM and DG members in the development of setup and initial operation of MDM and DG platform systems. These activities will include

  • Implement the functional requirements for MDM/DG

  • Support and manage MDM and DG operational work process

  • Support DG policies and procedures

  • Support the roles of business and data stewards

  • Support DG work flows

  • Perform regular system operations audits and other health checks

  • Support disaster recovery and continuity of operations plan

  • Work with IS&T SOC

  • Support data quality profiling and reporting

  • Work with EIP to implement required data integration

  • Participate in DEP Global Design to support workshop and requirements needs

  • Conduct SME MDM/DG tool training

  • Support onboarding of initial MDM content

  • Provide onboarding reports to workshop participants

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent EPC work experience

  • 5+ years automation experience in the EPC industry

  • Experience in supporting and implement application systems and platforms

  • Experience with database systems and associated query languages and reporting solutions

  • Experience with application lifecycles

  • Experience with data integration

  • Experience with data quality and profiling

  • Experience and or understanding of data centric execution

  • Experience in supporting role-based access control and information security

  • Good automation skills. Strong skills around using tools to create, view and edit data.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Ability to think out of the box and questioning everything

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge around data governance and master data management

  • Knowledge around data quality and data integration

  • Software development a plus

  • Having worked in more than one function/GBU is a plus

  • Former experience in smaller companies where personnel are more diversified is a plus (fewer specialists, more generalists)

  • Knowledge of Design Thinking
