Job Description

Engineer having Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and Master’s Degree with specialization in Hydraulics/Hydrology & Water Resources engineering from a reputed Institute with 10-12 years of experience in design and engineering of hydrological structures, closed conduit and open channel flow systems, area drainage for large scale industrial complex such as Oil, Gas & Chemical projects. Suitable candidate with relevant experience in Mining & Metal and Power projects may also be considered. Additional experience in Infrastructure projects such as highway projects will be an added advantage.

Candidate should have worked in an engineering office or consultancy of repute performing basic engineering, FEED, EPC, EPCM and have exposure to Indian, US, Euro and other international codes/standards and local practices. Candidate should be familiar with industry standard computer applications such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, TR-20, SWMM, CORMIX, SLOSH, Mike21, Delft3D, IMPULSE or equivalent.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals, design criteria, specifications, budget and schedule for projects of varying complexity.

  • Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of cost estimates, quantity take-offs and staffing requirements for proposals, forecasts and change orders.

  • Reviews bid analysis and makes recommendation.

  • Reviews and checks work of team members and provides input for their performance evaluation.

  • Supports the creation of a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.

Job Knowledge

  • The position requires working knowledge and understanding of cooling water, potable water, contaminated rain water conveying and pumping systems (gravity flow and pressurized systems); pump intakes, discharge outfalls, and other offshore or onshore hydraulic structures

  • Knowledge of rainfall-runoff analysis & modeling, storm water drainage system design & open-channel flow analysis

  • Performs analysis, evaluation and design of storm water management and site drainage facilities; surface water hydrology and flood protection measures;

  • Performs Design of river training structures, bank protection, erosion and sedimentation analysis, scour protection design, sediment transport analysis in river and coastal environment, coastal hydrodynamic modeling and mixing analysis and sediment and water pollution prevention plans

  • Performs mathematical model studies, employing appropriate one or multi-dimensional models, for the runoff analysis, open channel flow analysis, steady-state and transient analysis of piped systems, sediment transport, environmental mixing, hydrodynamic and solute transport

  • Ability to perform work using Standard Application Programs and appropriate computer aided design and computer aided engineering (CAD and CAE) tools.

  • Understands of engineering planning and control methods including computerized methods.

  • Skill in oral and written communication and writing technical reports.

  • Job experience of Coordinating engineering effort in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers & contractors and construction

  • Understands of the roles played by other discipline like General Civil works, Structural, Mechanical, Highways, Geotech and Construction etc.

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification with eligibility for PE exam in one year is preferred
